Naperville Maternity &
Newborn Photographer
Some couples arrive at their maternity session a little nervous about being in front of the camera. These two arrived looking like they were on a date night.
From the moment we started walking through the gardens at Cantigny, their connection was effortless. Between the laughter, quiet conversations, and the way they naturally gravitated toward one another, this session felt less like a photoshoot and more like documenting a season they never want to forget.
As first-time parents, there is a unique mix of excitement and anticipation that comes with preparing to meet your baby. The nursery gets finished, tiny clothes start filling drawers, and suddenly the reality of becoming a family of three begins to sink in. It's such a fleeting season, and one that deserves to be remembered.
Cantigny provided the perfect backdrop for their maternity session. The gardens were in full bloom, with vibrant flowers, lush greenery, and soft summer light creating a beautiful setting around every turn. We took our time exploring, stopping wherever the light caught our eye and letting the evening unfold naturally.
One of my favorite things about maternity photography is capturing not only the anticipation of meeting a baby, but also the relationship that started it all. Long before sleepless nights, first birthdays, and family traditions, there are these quiet moments between two people preparing for the biggest adventure of their lives together.
As we talked throughout the session about their upcoming arrival, it was impossible not to get excited right alongside them. The joy, love, and anticipation they already have for their little one was evident in every image we created together.
The best part? This isn't the end of their story. I'll have the privilege of seeing them again soon for their newborn session, where I'll get to meet the little one they've been waiting so patiently to welcome into the world. Being able to document both the anticipation and the arrival is one of my favorite parts of what I do.
For expecting parents considering maternity photos, there is no perfect way to pose or prepare. Simply showing up together and celebrating this season is enough. Years from now, these photographs will serve as a reminder of who you were before your baby arrived and the incredible excitement of waiting to meet them.
To this sweet couple, thank you for allowing me to be a small part of such a meaningful chapter. I cannot wait to meet your newest family member very soon.
