Now What?

If you've ever thought, "There's no way my child is going to sit still for family photos," I have good news for you.

They're not supposed to.

One of the biggest misconceptions about family photography is that children need to behave perfectly in order to create beautiful images. In reality, some of the most meaningful photographs happen when kids are simply being themselves.

The Goal Isn't Perfect Behavior

Family sessions aren't a test.

Your child doesn't need to smile on command, sit quietly, or look at the camera for an entire hour.

Instead, I focus on connection, interaction, and genuine moments. The giggles, cuddles, curiosity, and even a little bit of chaos often tell a much more authentic story than a perfectly posed portrait.

What If My Child Is Shy?

Many children need a little time to warm up.

That's completely normal.

I never expect children to immediately jump into photos with a stranger holding a camera. We move at their pace, play games, explore, and create opportunities for natural interaction.

What If They Have a Meltdown?

Parents are often surprised when I tell them not to worry.

I've photographed plenty of toddlers who needed snack breaks, cuddle breaks, or a few minutes to reset.

The session doesn't have to be perfect to create beautiful photographs.

Let Them Be Kids

The images families cherish most years later are rarely the perfectly posed ones.

They're the photographs of tiny hands reaching for mom, spontaneous laughter, running through a field, or snuggling close to dad.

Those moments cannot be forced.

Trust the Process

My job isn't to make your child fit into a photography session.

It's to create a photography experience that works for your child.

When families arrive expecting connection instead of perfection, everyone relaxes and the magic usually follows.

If you're worried your toddler won't cooperate for family photos, you're exactly the kind of family I love photographing.
